To many of us Bill was a friend and motivator as he rekindled interest in WAR replicas via his efforts. He will be sorely missed. Directly in the wake of this tragedy are his wife Cindy and daughters Meghan 12, Ashley 8,
Lindsey 6, and Katie 3. (As of 2002)
Bill started WARbuddies website to gather information and assistance in his pursuit of his dream of building a WAR replica. In the end, Bill gathered more information on WAR replicas, located more builders and pilots than any other person.
In 2000 I met Bill through his website and was immediately motivated to make my own. After his passing I inherited all of his WAR collection and merged my website with his.
Prior to Bills efforts the world of WAR was made up of a few websites which often left potential builders questions unanswered. Getting any information or help was pretty much up to each individual as there was no discussion board or freind like Bill to call. Bill's only reward was respect, admiration and the appreciation of our community as he had no financial interests in WAR.
Bill's wife has requested that the site be maintained and this is what I shall do. Sadly enough, it would be impossible for anyone (me included) to keep Bill's pace regarding the development of the site. I doubt anyone could ever replace Bill or what he has done.
Sincerely,
Jim Daugherty
